History of the Prayer Wall of the CaucasusImage

The Prayer Wall of the Caucasus Ministry started in 1997. God knew that no one church by herself had enough strength to overcome darkness in the Caucasus.  In 1994 Arthur Suleymanov (now a pastor in the church “Hosanna” in Makhachkala city and bishop of the Russian Christian Evangelical Church in the Dagestan region) had a vision where he saw a map of the Caucasus on which the spires fell, bursting into fire and joining into one flame line in the shape of circle. This was a graphic image of what God wanted to say. This circle had to block the spread of the darkness and reveal the Gospel both into the Caucasus and from the Caucasus. God gave an understanding of the need of building up a prayer chain consisting of churches which begin to burst into spires and prayer, join into one flame line from the Caspian Sea to the Black Sea. This prayer chain is important for people to receive salvation and for the protection of the Caucasus from the spread of Islam and its further penetration into Europe. This flame line was passable only from the inside of it (the Gospel will be spreading), but those who carried the evil could not penetrate from the outside, they were simply burned down in this fire. God said that Arthur would not be an executor of this vision.

Some time later Arthur Suleymanov went to a conference “Catch the Fire” in Armavir city, where God reminded him about that vision. He shared this vision with one missionary. At that time she felt that God was pointing at her, and He was calling her to the ministry of building up the prayer chain.

She went to Ukraine, where she spent long time in fasting and prayer, asking God how this vision could be put into practice, to be carried out.  God showed her an action plan in details, according to the book of Nehemiah. Having shared her vision with pastor Seleznyov Valery Fyodorovich (now a bishop of the Russian Christian Evangelical Church in the Stavropol Territory and a senior pastor of the mission “Restoration”),  she received a blessing from him and also from Pavel Borisovich Okara (now a chair of the Association of Russian Christian Evangelical Churches) to start this ministry.

She made practical steps according to the book of Nehemiah. The whole creation of the Prayer Wall of the Caucasus was literally made by the book of Nehemiah. As Nehemiah first went around the broken wall, so she, with few faithful people (and sometimes by herself), went from city to city looking around and examining the broken “Walls”. She met with pastors and presbyters of any church, who responded to co-operation. She called upon those churches for becoming initiators of united prayers of all churches of that city.

That time we didn’t have the clear understanding about the unity of the Body of Christ, about the united prayer of the churches of any denomination. We often faced such question: “Why do we need that? We pray in our church anyway”. But some of those people responded. Then Katya took intercessors from one city and went with them to neighbor city to introduce them to intercessors of that city, and to pray together with them. Thare was a wonderful brotherhood in this. God joined hearts through the prayer and rose up intercessors.

The first thing God did, was calling all churches of the Caucasus to 40 days fasting for the Caucasus. Many responded. And there was first “conference” of the Prayer Chain (the word “Wall” came later) which was held in Podgornaya, Krasnodar Territory, in August 1997. Those were the first three days of our 40-days fasting. There were intercessors from Armavir union and other churches, particularly from Makhachkala. The people from Makhachkala came late at night, they made their way through the thick forest to the camping site. Everyone was surprised to see them coming from the forest at 3 am!

Pola O Kiph, she shared the word, taught. Volodya Pashkov and Ira Guschina helped to lead the meeting. Everything was very simple. The last 3 days of this fasting we also gathered together in the modesty of our hearts in the village Kurskaya, Stavropol Territory. We all gathered at Pastor Vladimir Sklyarov’s place. There were about 15-20 people from different cities. We slept on the floor, prayed a lot, shared with what God showed us during that 40-days fasting. One of the big testimonies was that Yelcin set a veto on the first edition of the decree, concerning religion. According this decree, no one church, less then 15 years old could legally function in Russia, etc. According to the second edition – only the union of churches or denomination was demanded to have 15-year-old length of service. If not God, many of our churches couldn’t exist today…

As the ministry grew, the intercessors from different churches started to gather once in every 6 months for united prayer, to be filled up with the Word of God and to have fellowship. On the conferences they shared with what God said to churches, what He wanted to do for that time, for what to pray and told churches of the cities of the Caucasus. Those were things requiring the prayer efforts of many. The structure and officiality weren’t enough, as very often this just destroyed the life. This movement was born and created not as the organization. God led His building in the Spirit, joining the hearts of people, building on the real desire to pray for each other and for the nations, out of Love. For ages the Caucasus was being separated by the spirit of division, competition and hatred between the nations. This penetrates even into the Body of our God. The Prayer Wall of the Caucasus moves in opposite Spirit, this is unity – a very strategic matter. In John chapter 17 there were such strategies or general directions, as burial of the remains of the royal family, repentance for sin of regicide; “soft heart” - the repentance of Russia and of the nations of the Caucasus before each other says for itself.Image

In november in 2001 she heard from God that that was the time for her to leave this ministry and she gave it to a new team: Jandet Albotova, Ekaterina Stolbova, Zarema Magomedova, Igor Konyaschenko and Eduard Tretyakov. Gradually the team members changed. Today the team consists of 4 ministers: Jandet Albotova (Uchkeken, church "Reconciliation"), pastor Oleg Kulikov (Essentuky city, church "the Love of Christ the Saviour"), she (Essentuky city, church "the Love of Christ the Saviour") and Nadezhda Vorobyova (Essentuky city, church "the Love of Christ the Saviour"). God is also raising now regional leaders in each region of the Caucasus.
Each of us was blessed by our pastors and bishops of regions for this ministry.  And also the ministry of the new team was blessed by Pavel Okaro, chairman of the Russian Christian Evangelical Church Union and Pavel Bak, the first deputy of the main bishop of Russian Christian Evangelical Church.
Today PWC is accounted for to the board of guardians consisting of 4 members.

Today we hold big conferences with participation of founder of the “Seeking God” movement Sergey Shidlovsky, the pastor of Kiev Jewish Messianic Congregation Boris Grisenko, the prophets from SA Owna Acstin, Rita Maray, Derick de Kler, Kerol Singleton and others.

But still the main direction remains in listening to God’s directions and revealing Him on our conferences. And through this the partnership with other God’s movements develops. We hold co-operative prayer tours, fasting-conferences, church visiting and other work with churches. But the boss and captain and lootsman is still Jesus, that’s why everything that we achieved, every answered prayer, maturity of the intercessors, every encouraged and strengthened heart – it’s His work. And all the glory we give to Him, to the Owner and Lord of the Universe – Jesus Christ. Carpenter from Nazareth, Lamb slaughtered for you and me, to the God of Israel, King of Kings, coming to take what belongs to Him!
